M.C.F.P.D TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM
The Mercer County Fire District Technical Rescue Team, under the direction of Rescue Chief Lewis Sexton unit 106, runs out of Burgin Fire Dept (Station 6). Team uses the new Heavy Rescue 6, stationed at Burgin Station, which is fully loaded with the equipment needed to perform technical rescue operations.
The team, consisting of members from all county departments, is currently undergoing training to become certified Rope Techicians. With that they will be able to perform high and low angle rope rescue, and have some of the skills to perform trench rescue, water rescue, RIT operations. Other trainings and certifications will follow for those members in order to become Certified Rescue Technicians.
