2/8/2010 - Chief Phillips distributed a document this date via email detailing training deficits for all members. Please check your email or contact your District Chief for more information.

2/8/2010 - Lt. Derrick Steele wishes to thank all members who have been attending the Wednesday night training sessions at Station 5; he encourages all MCFD members to participate in these county-wide trainings. Please note that a Wildland Firefighting Awareness Level Course will be presented at Station 5 on February 27th from 0800 till 1200 hours. This is a required class to become certified as a firefighter at the 150-hour level. Please see the MCFD Calendar for more information on upcoming training opportunities.

1/26/2010 - The MCFD Gallery Page has been updated with images from the HazMat Technician course offered on 10/25/09. Also, the MCFD Training Page has been updated with images of the new sign at Station 12 and a link to the Training Calendar.

1/25/2010 - The Mercer County Fire District welcomes a future member, Brayden Matthew Sears. Brayden was born at 1:55 AM on 1/25/10. He weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz., was 19.75" long, and is the son of Captain Benjamin Sears (Engine 12) and his wife Ronda.

Radio/Repeater Usage Reminder

1/24/2010 - All members are reminded that the channel labeled "MCFD PRIMARY" in your radio is not yet in use. Until notified otherwise, please use the channel labeled "SOUTH REPEATER." If your radio does not display the channel name, use Channel 5.

1/24/2010 - Reprogramming of analog radios is nearly complete. All members who have not had their radio reprogrammed are asked to contact Chief Phillips at Chief@Mercercountyfire.com to provide further information. Those with Midland, Motorola, or other brand name radios (other than Kenwood) are asked to have the model number of the radio available.

New Daytime All Call Procedures
|
10/26/2009 - MCFD has instituted a new all call procedure for structure fires between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday. The first three stations and fourth-in tanker will respond as usual. For structure fires, any member of any station in the district is encouraged to respond. Members are encouraged to respond in utilities or squads so as to avoid too many POVs on scene. This policy will remain in effect until further notice.

MCFD Road Index DRAFT Version Available
|
8/24/09 - The Mercer County Road Index used by MCFD personnel has been revised to incorporate Stations 12 and 13. This is a draft version. Please direct any comments, suggestions, or corrections to your district chief. The final version will be posted on the website after all corrections have been made.
