September is National Preparedness Month

9/1/2010 - September is National Preparedness Month! This awareness month is sponsored by the Ready Campaign in partnership with Citizen Corps and the Ad Council. NPM is designed to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities. September is National Campus Fire Safety Month

9/1/2010 - Campus fire safety has become an important issue across the nation. Now in its sixth year, governors across the nation, including here in the Commonwealth, are signing proclamations designating September as Campus Fire Safety Month in their states and resolutions have been introduced in both the U.S. Senate U.S. House of Representatives. Schools across the country will be holding events to educate and inform students about what they can do to help ensure they are not the victim of a preventable fire. MCFD Auxiliary Page Updates

6/22/2010 - The MCFD Auxiliary webpage has been updated with meeting dates and locations for the rest of the year as well as the May meeting minutes.



Communications Page Updates

6/20/2010 - The MCFD Communications Page has been updated with information on the new digital radio system to include a system description and links to "how to" pages for the new radio equipment.



Gallery Page Updates

2/25/2010 - The MCFD Gallery Page has been updated with images from the recruit classes offered on 2/10 and 2/17.



Updated MCFD Road Index Available

2/23/2010 - The Mercer County Road Index used by MCFD personnel has been revised. The updated version is available here.



Training Deficit Information

2/8/2010 - Chief Phillips distributed a document this date via email detailing training deficits for all members. Please contact your District Chief for more information.



Training & Gallery Page Updates

1/26/2010 - The MCFD Gallery Page has been updated with images from the HazMat Technician course offered on 10/25/09. Also, the MCFD Training Page has been updated with images of the new sign at Station 12 and a link to the Training Calendar.



Birth Announcement

1/25/2010 - The Mercer County Fire District welcomes a future member, Brayden Matthew Sears. Brayden was born at 1:55 AM on 1/25/10. He weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz., was 19.75" long, and is the son of Captain Benjamin Sears (Engine 12) and his wife Ronda.



Radio Programming Update

1/24/2010 - Reprogramming of analog radios is complete. All members who have not had their radio reprogrammed are asked to contact Mike Sims (1220) at webmaster@Mercercountyfire.com to provide further information. Those with Midland, Motorola, or other brand name radios (other than Kenwood) are asked to have the model number of the radio available.

11/22/2009 - The Mercer County Fire District is now accepting applications for Recruit Firefighters. Please dowload the application packet by clicking here.

New Daytime All Call Procedures

10/26/2009 - MCFD has instituted a new all call procedure for structure fires between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday. The first three stations and fourth-in tanker will respond as usual. For structure fires, any member of any station in the district is encouraged to respond. Members are encouraged to respond in utilities or squads so as to avoid too many POVs on scene. This policy will remain in effect until further notice.

8/29/2009 - Welcome to the new MCFD website. Many pages remain a work in progress. As pages are updated, they will be listed here. MCFD news updates will continue to appear on this main page as well as training opportunities and other upcoming events. Please submit information or ideas for the site by using this form or by emailing the web design team.
